Get an OBD2 Adapter

Strion reads live engine data straight from your car through a small OBD2 adapter that plugs in under the dashboard. It powers everything in the app: trip recording, diagnostics, DTC codes and engine health checks. Most gasoline cars sold since 1996 have an OBD2 port.

Before you buy

Strion connects over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Classic-Bluetooth-only and WiFi-only OBD2 adapters will not work.

Adapters advertised as “Bluetooth 4.0” or with iPhone/iOS support are BLE-capable.

Setting it up

Plug the adapter into your car’s OBD2 port — usually under the dashboard on the driver’s side, near the steering column.

Turn the ignition on, then pair the adapter in your phone’s Bluetooth settings (it shows up with a name like “IOS-Vlink” or “OBDII”).

Open Strion, tap Connect Device on the Dashboard, and select your adapter. Trips, diagnostics and health checks unlock from there.
